Laegern

The Laegern site (47.48N, 8.40E) is composed of a managed mixed deciduous mountain forest, dominated by Common beech (Fagus sylvatica) and Norway spruce (Picea abies). It is located on the south-facing slope of the Laegern mountain northwest of Zurich (CH) at about 680 m asl. (Etzold et al., 2010). The site serves as a supersite for various activities and forms part of CarboEurope (Eddy flux measurements), AERONET, NABEL (Swiss air quality network), Pyrogenic carbon studies network and the European Space Agency project 3D Vegetation Lab (Morsdorf et al., 2011).
