Landscape services and basic landscape knowledge

"Landscape services are landscape functions that provide direct economic, social and health benefits to individuals and society. In many cases, they have the character of public goods."
Keller and Backhaus, 2017

This webpage is the outcome of a research project funded by the Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN - BAFU) on "landscape services in landscapes of national importance". The understanding of "landscape services" is explained and some recommendations, good practice examples and publications are listed.
