The URPP GCB and the EU BON agreed and signed on April 23, 2014 a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for future cooperation and networking. The main goal of the EU BON project is to build a substantial European contribution to the “Group on Earth Observations – Biodiversity Observation Network (GEO BON)”. The EU BON pursues innovative approaches towards the integration and analyses of biodiversity information going from on-ground to remote sensing data, to address policy and stakeholders needs. The EU BON project is carried out by a consortium of 30 partners form 18 countries. With this MoU, the URPP GCB engages in working with the members of the EU BON towards the project goals and to participate and contribute to the network. Moreover, the URPP GCB will be able to participate in data sharing, attend EU BON workshops and meetings and have the opportunity to contribute to and present new ideas to the EU BON project.
