Open Science at UZH and URPP GCB

Open Access and Open Science is a strategic goal of UZH, in line with the National Open Access Strategy. Researchers are encouraged and supported to publish their work in Open Access journals.

See the strategy of UZH here

The URPP GBC is developing into a role model of Open Science by implementing the UZH strategy and encouraging its researchers to publish articles and data as open access. This is done through the following:

  1. Increasing visibility of Open Access articles and data
  2. Conducting regular information events on Open Science, e.g.
  3. Providing a list of research data published in repositories
  4. Encouraging data publication through a small financial contribution

How do we do?

At the URPP GCB, we aim to make our research output openly accessible. Of 237 journal publications published between 2013 and 2020, two-thirds were published open access, either in open access journals, as open access articles in closed journal, or made available through as pre-print in a repository.
